Alan Edwards - Director

Alan Edwards first started coaching in 1990 in a wide range of sports whilst pursuing a career as a professional footballer which included representations with Bristol Rovers, QPR and England U19’s. In 1994 Alan turned his attention to corporate life working within the financial services industry as a Business Development Manager sponsoring professional athletes and sporting establishments. After retraining as a Financial and Investment Consultant he worked for many years in several well known and large banking organisations. In 2006 Alan and family moved to live in Jersey  culminating in having responsibility for the Investment Sales target in the Channel Islands for Jersey & Guernsey for a well known worldwide corporate and private banking operation. In 2008 Alan returned to the UK to pursue his own business venture and to spend quality time with his family. When asked by Gareth to aid in the operation of First For Sports and go back to his early roots of a life in coaching sports there was no hesitation. Alan brings to First For Sports an embedded corporate business acumen & relationship management experience.

 

Gareth Edwards - Director

Gareth Edwards left further education after studying Sport & Exercise Science at Thames Valley University. During this period Gareth worked within the leisure industry in duty management roles and coaching for Reading Football Club community scheme. This was Reading Football club offering coaching to local schools and the opportunity for gifted footballers to aspire to one day becoming a professional footballer. Gareth also worked for a number of sports coaching companies developing his existing coaching skills, organisation, management and knowledge of a fast growing industry. Upon Alan’s return to the UK, Gareth took the decision to forge a partnership as First For Sports and therefore position in the marketplace, a company with both sporting and corporate level experience to provide a outstanding level of coaching and business partnerships to schools, children, parents and sporting clubs.
